biography

From the age of 12 to 18, Palenciano had a love affair with a boy. During this time she was repeatedly the victim of emotional and physical violence by her boyfriend, who also tried to murder her.

When she changed city to study Audiovisual Communication at the University of Malaga , she was able to end their relationship. During this period, she realized that she had been mistreated. In Málaga she went to psychological treatment and came into contact with feminist movements. Based on this experience, she realized that her case is part of a global problem, patriarchal and sexist social structures.

After graduating from university, Palenciano spent eight years in El Salvador and then returned to Spain .

No solo duels los golpes

The work began as a photographic exhibition in which Palenciano's experiences in their dysfunctional relationship were described. The work later developed into a workshop on violence prevention .

In El Salvador she discovered theater for herself and reformulated the project into a monologue.

In the play, she explores the myth of romantic love, jealousy , control and possession, sexual and physical violence, recovery and the establishment of another model of love from her own perspective .

Palenciano has performed No solo duelen los golpes in some Latin American countries and many Spanish cities. She has also received several awards for her contribution to preventing violence against women in schools.
