history

Holger "Hopfenstreich" Hoffmann, born in 1958, worked as a freelance musician after completing his studies in 1985. He studied singing in Berlin with Elisabeth Umierski and composition with Lieselotte Scharpf. He learned the game of the bagpipe on courses. Later the cister completed the instrumentation. He created programs with Peter Siche (vocals, guitar), Thomas Loefke (Irish harp), Rudolf Bode (vocals, cister, bagpipes), Marion Kokott (recorders), Jan Budweis (accordion), Helmut Abel (accordion), Ulrich Hammann ( Piano and hurdy-gurdy) and the European Youth Symphony Orchestra. As a studio musician, he was a guest on several CD productions. "Lästerliches und Liederliches" were published in 1990, "Let the blasphemous tongues stew" in 1993 and "Holger Hoffmann sings Karl-Michael Bellmann, Sweden's subtle folk singer" in 2002.

Max von Gluchowe (* 1971) started out as a minstrel at city and medieval festivals in 1994 . He worked as a freelance actor, musician and conférencier and for various television projects. He gave a new face to many historical figures, including the Saxon commander of the Königstein Fortress, Friedrich Wilhelm von Kyaw .

In 1996 the two artists got to know each other at the Leuchtenburg in Seitenroda near Jena and began their first joint appearances there. The duo's name Pampatut was allegedly borrowed from a medieval court file , where “Pampa” is supposed to embody the drum rhythm and “Tut” a wind instrument.
