The Pančićev vrh ( Serbian - Cyrillic Панчићев врх , in English Pančić's summit ) is at 2017 m the highest point of the Kopaonik in southern Serbia directly on the border between central Serbia and Kosovo . The largest and most modern ski facility in Serbia is located on Pančićev vrh. There is a mausoleum on the top of the mountain in memory of the Serbian botanist Josif Pančić . He was the first to explore the Kopaonik Mountains and so the highest peak of these mountains was named after him on July 7, 1951. Before that, the mountain was called Milanov vrh . The mausoleum was damaged in a bomb attack by NATO planes during the Kosovo war in 1999 .
