Panagiotis Bratsiotis

Panagiotis Bratsiotis (* 1889 in Thiva ; † January 31, 1982 in Athens ; Greek Παναγιώτης Μπρατσιώτης ) was a Greek professor of theology and member of the Academy of Athens .

Life

In 1889 he was born in Thiva (Θήβα) as the son of a priest. He studied at the Rizario School (Ριζάρειο σχολή) and at the Theological School of Athens, where he also obtained his doctorate. He expanded his studies in Germany, at the University of Leipzig and the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . After returning home, he was initially appointed a high school teacher. He was later appointed to the University of Athens . In 1955 he was admitted to the Academy of Athens, where he was president in 1960.
