Pan American Games 1991 / Football

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For the eleventh time, a football tournament was held at Pan-American games in 1991 . It took place in Havana between August 4th and 13th, 1991.

Eight teams took part. The USA won the tournament for the first time, on the one hand it was due to the fact that they competed with the participants of the very successful U-20 World Cup (1989), including Brad Friedel , Joe-Max Moore , Steve Snow , Cobi Jones and Claudio Reyna , on the other hand the strong South American teams had boycotted the tournament.
