The Pankratius Church in Srejach / Sreje in the parish of Sankt Kanzian am Klopeiner See is a branch church of the Roman Catholic parish of St. Kanzian and belongs to the diocese of Gurk within the Eberndorf / Dobrla deanery .

Building description

The church, which was first mentioned in documents in 1454, is a small late Gothic building. It consists of a narrow, high nave with a gable roof, on top of a ridge turret , and an equally wide choir supported by buttresses . There is a fresco of St. Christopher on the south wall of the nave . The brick, open porch protects the ogival, Gothic west portal.

The interior consists of a two-bay nave with a ribbed vault on consoles. This is followed by the one-bay choir with a three-eighth closure, a ribbed vault on circular services and with tracery windows . A pointed triumphal arch connects the two parts of the room. An iron plate door leads from the choir into the sacristy .

On the east side of the southern triumphal arch pillar there is a painting of St. Leonhard , followed by an overpainted crucifixion from the last third of the 15th century on the south wall of the nave. The paintings of the Last Judgment from 1609 on the north wall of the choir and the flagellation of Christ from the same time on the north wall of the choir are from the local Renaissance .

Facility

The high altar from 1644 bears the sculptures of St. Pankratius , flanked by two Jesuit saints and in the top the saints Laurentius and Barbara .

The side altar made around 1720 with the statue of St. Pankratius from the 16th century was formerly placed in the vestibule. The pulpit is from the 19th century.
