Pantaleon (King of Pisa)

Pantaleon ( Greek  Πανταλέων ) was around 600 BC. The ruler and tyrant of Pisa in ancient Greece .

Pantaleon supported the Spartans in the Second Messenian War . In the subsequent conflict with Elis he was successful and brought the Pisaten to preside over the ancient Olympic Games for several years . His firstborn son Damophon followed him first in the rule, then his son Pyrrhus . Pyrrhos resumed the old conflict with Elis in the 50th Olympiad , but was defeated despite the support of the Skilluntier , Makistier and Dyspontier , so that Pisa in the year 572 B.C. Was smashed and incorporated into the Elish region. From that time on, the chair of the Olympic Games fell to Elis.
