Paolo Aretino
Paolo Antonio del Bivi (* 1508 ; † 1584 in Arezzo ), called Paolo Aretino , was an Italian composer of the Renaissance . He worked as cantor at Arezzo Cathedral until 1547 and then at Santa Maria della Pieve , also in Arezzo, until his death . In this capacity he mainly wrote sacred choral music, including a St. John Passion and responses to Good Friday . Secular vocal works by him have also survived, for example two madrigal books .
