Paolo Giordano (born December 19, 1982 in Turin ) is an Italian writer. His first book The Loneliness of the Prime Numbers was Italy's best-selling book in 2008. In 2008 it received the prestigious Premio Strega and the Premio Campiello for the first novel.

Paolo Giordano is a physicist who obtained his master's degree in theoretical physics and received his doctorate in theoretical / particle physics from the University of Turin in February 2010 . He also writes for the daily Corriere della Sera , which he points out on his homepage.
