features

The moths reach a wingspan of 70 to 90 millimeters. The forewings have a black basic color, but are characterized by a yellow-green area in the basal region and a little in the disk region . In the vicinity of the apex, in the submarginal region and a little in the postdiscal region, there is a triangular area with green, individual scales , which becomes increasingly thinner towards the inner edge. The hind wings have a black basic color and are characterized by a yellow-green area in the basal region and a little in the disk region. In the submarginal region there are several indicated green arc spots. The outer edge is wavy and has a tail extension.

The underside of the forewings hardly bears any resemblance to the upper side. It has a brown basic color and is dusted with white scales in the front area, near the front edge. The triangle interior angle-apex-interior edge of the border between the submarginal region and the post-disk region-interior angle is clearly lighter than the rest of the wing and is pierced by brown veins. The underside of the hind wings has little in common with the upper side. It has a brown basic color and is pollinated with individual, white scales in the basal region and disk region. The submarginal region and parts of the post-fiscal region are colored a little lighter. In this area there are several eyes, which are blue, black and red. There is another row of dark brown arch marks on the outer edge. There is a black and orange eye in the inner corner and on the front edge.

The body has a black basic color, but is dusted with green scales on the thorax . The two sexes have the same wing markings and bodies.
