Papyrus 121 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 120 ) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . These are fragments of a papyrus manuscript from the Gospel of John .

description

Only a few fragments have survived to this day. The remainder of John's text includes parts of verses 19, 17-18 and 25-26. It was dated to the 3rd century by means of paleography .

The manuscript is written very irregularly, the spacing between the letters is not the same. Although the text is very small, it contains two nouns sacra : ΙΣ and ΜΗΙ ( dative of ΜΗΡ ). There are two dots ( diariesis ) above the letter Iota . On the back in the lower line, the scribe on the left did not use the letter Iota in the word και, although he put a dieresis over the letter alpha . It's probably a typo.

text

The Greek text of the code is too short to determine its text type. It can therefore not be classified in any text category. It consists of only 20 letters on the back ( recto ) and 18 letters on the front ( verso ).
