Papyrus Chester Beatty XII

Papyrus Chester Beatty XII are 14 sheets and fragments of a papyrus codex from the 4th century that belong to the Chester Beatty papyri . They contain parts of the pseudepigraphic Book of Enoch , the Apocryphon of Ezekiel and an Easter homily, which is attributed to Melito of Sardis , in Greek . Eight sheets and a fragment are in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin , call number BP XII, and the others are in the University of Michigan library at Ann Arbor , call number P. 5552 and 5553.

The leaves are slightly damaged and are now about 23.8 × 13.5 cm. The text is written in one column in 36 to 44 lines with somewhat irregular uncials .

The sheets were acquired in Egypt in 1930 or 1931 by the American collector Alfred Chester Beatty . They were all first in the Chester Library in Dublin, some were then given to the University of Michigan.
