In 1957 the Klinik zur Vahr was founded with 28 beds by the Steineck couple. In 1962 it was named Kurfürstenklinik . In 1969 an extension was built and the clinic had 100 beds. In 1970, after the second expansion stage, there were 169 beds. In 1971 the medical center in Sonneberger Strasse was added. In 1973 the clinic had 200 beds. In 1988 the clinic was taken over by the Paracelsus clinics . From 1996 to 2012 the number of beds was reduced in stages to 87. It was now called the Paracelsus Clinic Bremen .
