Bird of paradise (heraldic animal)
The bird of paradise is in the heraldry an emblem and a very rare common figure . No special heraldic specifications are known. The low occurrence has not yet developed a special design for the heraldic animal.

The bird appears in the coat of arms and the national flag of Papua New Guinea, as well as in the city arms and on the city flag of Smolensk . In the latter, the golden bird sits on a cannon . The Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Thailand uses a mythological bird of paradise (paksa wayuphak) as a seal.
past
He was also depicted on coins of Papua New Guinea from the German colonization period . The coat of arms of the colony at the time of the German Empire showed the bird of paradise in the shield under the black imperial eagle .
