The Parang-Nabur is a sword from Borneo .
description
The Parang-Nabur has a double-edged, curved blade. The blade runs from the handle widening to the place . The place is rounded off or cut off at an angle. The blade has one or more hollow grinds that run just below the back of the blade. A 20 cm long cutting edge is usually worked out on site. Openwork decorations, such as those found in the Parang and Klewang gardens , are usually made on site . The handle is usually made of wood or horn and is decorated with local carvings. The pommel is usually carved in the shape of a mythical animal. A hand guard is usually attached to the handle. The hand guard and guard are made according to the European model. The scabbard is usually made of wood and is in two parts. It is held together with metal bands. The Parang-Nabur is used by different ethnic groups of Borneo ( Kalimantan ).
