history

The Parang Ginah was developed by the Malaysian tribes as a weapon and tool . There is disagreement among experts about the exact assignment because of its use as a sword and sickle.

description

The Parang-Ginah has a sickle-shaped blade about 30 cm long . The blade is the booklet (handle) is narrow and wider toward the center. From the middle, the blade becomes narrower towards the tip and is slightly bent upwards at the point (tip). A small, forward-facing hook is forged on the upper back of the blade. The lower side of the blade is concave and sharply ground. The Parang-Ginah has no guard . The handle is round and is usually made of wood or horn. The pommel consists of a decorated metal cap that is screwed to the blade tang. The parang ginah was also used as a sickle to work.
