The Parkeisenbahn Plauen is an electrically operated park railway in Plauen .

A train of the Parkeisenbahn Plauen with an EL 30 Tandem locomotive in front of the Hainstraße station.

The railway was put into operation on October 7, 1959 for the tenth anniversary of the GDR as a pioneer railway. The train runs on direct voltage (220 volts, 15 A), which is fed to the electric locomotives via an overhead line.

The line consists of two loops with a double-track line in the middle section.

Two modified mine locomotives, which were built in Aue for SDAG Wismut , and a locomotive that was built in 1959 by friends of the Zobes mine from two battery locomotives, Metallist , run on the park railway . A diesel locomotive of the LKM Ns 2f series , built in Babelsberg in 1956 (serial number 248702), is still available for special trips and for route maintenance. This locomotive comes from the Karsdorf cement works, came to the Park Railway in 2005 and was refurbished by members of the friends' association.

The Plauen Park Railway has between 20,000 and 38,000 passengers annually.
