The Parker Peak is a mountain on the Thurston Island before Eights Coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthlands . In the Walker Mountains, it looms at the base of the Evans Peninsula .
Its position was first determined from aerial photographs taken by the VX-6 United States Navy squadron in January 1960. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1961 after Alton Norman Parker (1895-1942), a pilot in the first Antarctic expedition (1928-1930) of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
