General election in Costa Rica 2018

The 2018 general election in Costa Rica took place on February 4, 2018.

In the general election, 57 MPs were elected for the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica . The election was based on proportional representation .

Results

The parliamentary elections were won by a majority of parties left of the political center such as Partido Acción Ciudadana and Partido Liberación Nacional . In the presidential election held at the same time , no candidate received an absolute majority; there was a runoff between Carlos Alvarado Quesada (PAC) and Fabricio Alvarado Muñoz (PRN), which Alvarado Quesada won on April 1, 2018.
