The 2006 parliamentary elections in Montenegro took place on September 10, 2006.

In the 2002 election, the DPS-led bloc, which campaigned for independence from Yugoslavia, won with 48% of the votes over the SNP-led pro-Serb bloc.
In May 2006 , a slim majority of 55% approved the separation from Serbia and Montenegro . However, the pro-Serbian camp did not recognize the result and parts of it wanted to renew the union with Serbia.
