Parodia linkii usually grows individually. The green, egg-shaped to almost spherical or short cylindrical shoots reach heights of growth of up to 18 centimeters and diameters of 7 to 15 centimeters. The 10 to 13 (rarely up to 15) ribs are blunt. The bristle-like thin thorns are often barely distinguishable in central and radial spines. The three to four brownish central spines have a length of 1.3 to 1.8 centimeters. The ten to 13 white to red-brown, often curved and twisted radial spines have a brownish tip and are 0.6 to 1.2 centimeters long.

The medium yellow to golden yellow flowers reach lengths of up to 3 centimeters and a diameter of 5 centimeters. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with scales, white wool and brown to red-brown bristles. The scars are purple to pink or light yellow. The dark green, spherical fruits contain cap-shaped, almost dull black seeds that are slightly rounded and humped.
