Parodia tabularis is a species of plant in the genus Parodia in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet tabularis comes from Latin , means 'tabular' or 'flat' and refers to the flattened, spherical shoots of the species.

Parodia tabularis grows individually. The glaucous blue-green, spherical to short cylindrical shoots reach heights of growth of up to 15 centimeters and a diameter of 8 centimeters. The shoot apex is often flattened. The 16 to 23 low and blunt ribs are slightly humped. The three to four cross, slightly curved central spines are white and have a brown tip. They have lengths of up to 1.2 centimeters (rarely up to 2 centimeters). The twelve to 18 needle-like, spread out radial spines are whitish and up to 1 centimeter long.
The yellow flowers reach lengths of up to 6 centimeters and the same diameter. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with white wool and long brown bristles. The scars are crimson. The yellowish green oval fruits have a length of up to 1.2 centimeters and a diameter of 7 millimeters. The fruits contain cap-shaped, black seeds up to 1 millimeter in length that are humped.
Distribution and systematics
Parodia tabularis is common in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay .
The first description as Echinocactus concinnus var. Tabularis by Karl Theodor Rümpler was published in 1886. David Richard Hunt placed the species in the genus Parodia in 1997 . Nomenclatory synonyms are Echinocactus tabularis Cels ex FACWeber (1896), Malacocarpus tabularis (Cels ex Rümpler) Britton & Rose (1922, incorrect name ICBN -Article 11.4), Notocactus tabularis (Cels ex Rümpler) A. Berger (1929), Notocactus var . tabularis (Cels ex Rümpler) PVHeath (1995) and Peronocactus tabularis (Cels ex Rümpler) Doweld (1999, incorrect name ICBN -Article 11.4).
