Parque Estadual dos Três Picos
The Parque Estadual dos Três Picos (German translation: State Park of the Three Peaks ) is a state protected area in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro .

In this protected area, in addition to the easily accessible Cabeça de Dragão (dragon's head), the three eponymous granite rocks Três Picos are located. The highest peak in the park reaches a height of 2316 m . There are over 100 different climbing routes to reach the peaks of the granite rocks. The park is located in the Serra do Mar mountain range and covers an area of 65,133 hectares , making it the largest state park in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It is located in the municipalities of Cachoeiras de Macacu , Teresópolis , Nova Friburgo , Silva Jardim and Guapimirim . The climate is a tropical rainforest all year round , classification Af according to Köppen-Geiger.
history
Três Picos State Park was established by Decree No. 31.343 on June 5, 2002. The aim is to protect the degraded Mata Atlântica forest and endemic and threatened flora and fauna. In addition, the spring water and bodies of water are to be protected. In addition, the park should serve as a recreation area, research object and environmental education.
Flora and fauna
