Parrot is an impact crater on the front of the moon , south of Albategnius crater and west of Vogel . The crater lies in furrowed terrain, is itself very heavily eroded and is often overlaid by other impacts.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the naturalist and explorer Friedrich Parrot .
