The party of the people's freedom "For a Russia without arbitrariness and corruption" (Russian: Партия народной свободы "За Россию без произвола и коррупции"), abbreviated as a Russian party of several groups in December 2010, was an alliance of PARNAS ( Парна in December 2010) Russia was founded and after a year and a half, in June 2012, RPR-PARNAS was merged.

founding

First public meeting of the democratic coalition “For Russia without arbitrariness and corruption” on October 9, 2010 in Moscow. From left to right: Boris Nemtsov, Vladimir Milov, Vladimir Ryschkow, Mikhail Kasyanov.

The actual founding of the party was preceded by the establishment of a democratic coalition for a Russia free of arbitrariness and corruption in September 2010. This coalition was largely initiated by the former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov , the former Vice Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov , the financial politician Sergei Alexashenko , the opposition politician Ilya Yashin and the former liberal member of the State Duma Vladimir Ryzhkov in Moscow in mid-September 2010.

Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov (The Other Russia, United Civic Front, Committee 2008, Solidarnost ) should join the Democratic Coalition at a later date.

It was about the tenth attempt to forge an alliance of fragmented democratic forces in Russia.

The aim of this originally purely extra-parliamentary movement was to form a joint party as a united opposition to the planned Russian parliamentary elections in 2011 and the presidential elections in 2012 . However, this goal was not achieved.

The party intended to officially register to participate in the upcoming federal elections, but was rejected on June 22, 2011 due to deficiencies in the application. The immediately following accusation that the rejection was politically motivated was rejected by then President Dmitri Medvedev in a conversation with Moskowskije Novosti on June 24, 2011 , adding that PARNAS should only remove the “dead souls” from their application, which was then received they also admission. When submitting the application for approval on May 23, 2011, PARNAS stated that the party had more than 46,000 members and had 53 regional offices.

After the re-approval of the RPR ( Republican Party of Russia ), PARNAS merged with it in June 2012 to form the Republican Party of Russia - Party of People's Freedom (RPR-PARNAS).
