history

D-GHAN Partenavia P-68 Victor

Partenavia was founded in 1952 in Naples by the brothers Luigi and Paolo Pascale as Partenavia Costruzioni Aeronautiche SpA to build light aircraft . These were mainly used by Italian aviation clubs.

In July 1981 Partenavia was taken over by the Italian state group Alenia . The product maintenance then decreased more and more, spare parts were almost no longer manufactured, not to mention the construction of new types. Parts for Boeing and McDonnell-Douglas airliners were built in the Partenavia production facilities at Capodichino Airport .

In 1992, after lengthy negotiations, the takeover of Partenavia by the Genoa- based company Piaggio came to an end .

On April 1, 1993, the Bolognese businessman Dr. Luciano Zanotti bought the manufacturer for about 8 billion lire (then about 7.6 million DM). With him, the company should become active again. The resumption of production of the twin-engine types P.68C, P.68C-TC, P.68 "Observer 2" and AP.68TP-600 "Victor" was at least considered. There were also plans for a single-engine PD93 "Idea" with a 200 HP engine and for the twin-engine PD90 "wallpaper" (flying carpet) for up to 18 passengers.

Partenavia went bankrupt in 1998 and was bought by Vulcanair SpA, founded in 1996 .

In 1986 Luigi and his other brother Giovanni founded the company SRL Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam in Naples .
