The Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain ( Partido Comunista de los Pueblos de España , PCPE for short) is a Spanish party founded in 1984 . She takes a Marxist-Leninist point of view and is a member of the initiative of communist and workers' parties in Europe .
history
The party was founded in 1984 after internal party disagreements in response to the Eurocommunist- oriented policy of the Communist Party of Spain . The founding event was the so-called “Congress of Communist Unity” from December 13 to 15, 1984 in Madrid, at which the Partido Comunista de España Unificado (German United Communist Party of Spain), the Movimiento de Recuperación del PCE (dt. Movement for the Restoration of the Communist Party of Spain), the Movimiento para la Recuperación y Unificación del PCE (German Movement for the Restoration and Unification of the Communist Party of Spain), the Candidatura Comunista (German Communist candidacy) and other smaller communist groups united to form Partido Comunista . All these groups arose in resistance to the Eurocommunist general line of the CP of Spain under Santiago Carillo and were therefore able to come to an agreement on the basis of a pro-Soviet line. In 1986 the party gave itself its current name. From 1986 to 1988 the party was a member of the Izquierda Unida , the association of the Spanish left.
