The Partij voor het Noorden ( German Party for the North ), PvhN for short, is a political party in the Netherlands . She represents the interests of the provinces of Groningen , Drenthe and Fryslân . The party headquarters are located in Groningen .
Since the elections on March 7, 2007, the PvhN has one seat in the regional parliament of the province of Groningen, and two seats since the election of the regional parliament of the province of Groningen on March 20, 2019. The party is affiliated with the Independent Senate Group in the First Chamber of Parliament , which has a seat there.
aims
The PvhN aims to unite the three northern provinces of the Netherlands. The party also wants to ensure that the income from natural gas production there will benefit the region directly. Cross-border cooperation with the regions of East Friesland and Emsland is also sought on the German side.
elections
In 2004 the PvhN took part in the 2004 European elections , but with 0.4 percent nationwide, it was unable to garner enough votes for a seat. In the north of the Netherlands, the proportion of votes was significantly higher at up to five percent.
