Pascal Bader (politician)

Pascal Bader (* 1970 in Ulm ) is a non-party German politician. He has been Lord Mayor of the city of Kirchheim unter Teck since 2020 .

Life

Bader grew up in Aalen , where he graduated from the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium . From 1989 to 1994 he studied economics at the University of Augsburg , graduating with a degree in economics. From 1994 to 1995 he did community service. From 1996 to 2000 he was a research assistant at the Chair of Economics at the University of Augsburg. From 1997 to 1998 he attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University , Cambridge , USA. In 1999 he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Augsburg.

From 2000 to 2008 Pascal Bader worked as a consultant for fundamental questions of environmental policy and sustainability in the Ministry of the Environment in Baden-Württemberg. From 2008 to 2010 he was on parental leave. From 2010 to 2020 he was at the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg and since 2015 head of the Department of Environmental Technology, Research and Ecology.

In the mayor election in Kirchheim unter Teck on December 1, 2019, Pascal Bader won with 70.88% of the votes against the previous mayor Angelika Matt-Heidecker , who received only 28.89% of the votes. He took office on March 1, 2020.
