Pascual Orozco Vázquez (born January 28, 1882 , † August 15, 1915 in El Paso ) was a Mexican revolutionary and general .
Life
Born on January 28, 1882 near Guerrero , Chihuahua , he attended a country school. At the age of 20 he already owned a successful mule haulage company and transported mine yields to the smelters. From October 1910 he took part in the Mexican Revolution and supported efforts to overthrow President Porfirio Díaz . After Díaz's abdication, he rebelled unsuccessfully against the new Madero government in 1912 and had to flee to the USA . After his return in February 1913, he joined the new ruler General Victoriano Huerta , who had eliminated Madero in a coup . Huerta appointed him brigadier general .
After the victory of the “constitutionalists”, ie the armed forces under General Venustiano Carranza that were loyal to the Mexican constitution , he fled again into exile in the USA. While trying to return to Mexico, he was shot dead on August 30, 1915 at the border near El Paso by members of the US Army and Texas Rangers , who thought he was possibly a cattle thief. He was buried there before he was transferred to Chihuahua in 1923.
