Paskutiškiai is a place with five inhabitants (2011) in the district of Užusaliai the jonava district municipality , 3 km from Užusaliai , 6 km from Dumsiai , southwest of Center City Jonava in Kaunas district in Lithuania . The village has been the center of the subordinate district of the same name since 2009 with 98 inhabitants (2001). Four villages belong to the sub-district: Paskutiškiai, Šafarka, Būdos II and Būdos III.

history

Old Orthodox lived here from the 18th century . At the beginning of the 20th century, the village of Paskutiškiai belonged to the Wolost Užusaliai . In 1903 174 Old Believers lived here. They belonged to the parish of Rimkai . In 1908 the Pomors founded their own parish (Russian Паскутишкская община ). In 1909 a church was built and a cemetery was set up. This church was burned down during the First World War. In 1920 a new wooden Apparition-of-the-Lord Church was built (with the annual festival on August 19th ). In 1937 the parish had 1,030 and in 1949 even 1,200 Old Believers. In 1970 the Orthodox Church was burned down. In 2001 only 21 people lived here.
