Pat Storey

Pat Storey (* 1960 in Belfast ) is a British Anglican bishop of the Church of Ireland .

Life

Storey grew up in Belfast. She studied French and English at Trinity College in Dublin and attended the Church of Ireland Theological College where she studied Anglican theology. In 1997 she was ordained a deacon . In 1998 she was ordained a priest. From 2004 to 2013 she was the principal of St Augustine's in Londonderry . In September 2013, Storey was elected to succeed Bishop Richard Clarke in the Anglican Diocese of Meath and Kildare . Storey is the first female bishop of the Church of Ireland and the first Anglican female bishop of the British Isles .

Storey is married with two children, a son and a daughter. Her husband is also a priest.
