The Pathistanaya is a spear from Sri Lanka that is one of the polearms .

description

The Pathistanaya is usually made of steel . The blade consists of a double-edged main blade with a central ridge and two side blades, driven out of the same piece , which are roughly in the shape of a crescent. The spear blade is attached to the shaft with a socket. The shaft is made of hardwood that is covered with thin sheet steel or painted in different colors . The blade and the shaft are usually decorated with deep engravings and in some versions lined with silver ( Tausia ). There are different versions that differ in blade shape, length and width.
