Patricia van der Kammen

Patricia van der Kammen (born April 8, 1972 in Heerlen ) is a Dutch politician. She is close to the right-wing populist Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV).

Life

Van der Kammen studied psychology at the University of Tilburg . She then worked as an employee in the economic area of ​​the welfare office in Southeast Brabant and from 2003 to 2012 as a manager in the area of ​​planning and control at the University of Tilburg.

In the elections to the European Parliament in 2009 , van der Kammen was nominated by the PVV as a candidate, but her place on the list was not enough to move into parliament. In 2011, however, she was successful as a candidate on behalf of the PVV in the election to the Provinciale Staten of the province of Noord-Brabant . On October 3, 2012, she moved up to the European Parliament . It replaced the mandate of Barry Madlener , who moved to the second chamber of the States General . Party member Geert Wilders personally appointed her for all these positions .

Van der Kammen was a non-attached MEP and member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula. As a deputy, she sat on the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection . Her term in the European Parliament ended on July 1, 2014, as she decided not to run again. She returned to her position at Tilburg University from which she had been released.
