Patricio Araujo

Patricio Araujo Vázquez (born January 30, 1988 in Colima , Colima ) is a Mexican football player who acts as a defender and is also known by the nickname Pato (the duck). He came to Club Deportivo Guadalajara at the age of fifteen , with which he is currently still under contract.

He made his professional debut in the Mexican Primera División on October 29, 2005 in a home game against Club Atlético Morelia , which was lost 2-1.

National team

Only a few weeks earlier he had his first major triumph. As captain of the Mexican U-17 national team , he led his teammates to win the 2005 U-17 World Cup in Peru . The Mexicans who were successful for the first time in such a competition were particularly convincing in the final phase of this tournament, when they overran the Dutch 4-0 in the semifinals and clearly got the upper hand against defending champions Brazil 3-0 in the final .
