Patrick Besson

Patrick Besson (born June 1, 1956 in France ) is a French writer and journalist .

biography

On his father's side, Besson comes from a Russian-Jewish family; his mother is from Croatia. In 1974, at the age of 17, Besson published his first novel: Les petits maux d'amour (English: The little sorrows of love). At first he sympathized with communism . Accordingly, he worked in the features section of the daily newspaper L'Humanité , which is located in the left-wing political spectrum, and worked for various other periodicals. During this period he described himself as a "non-practicing communist".

Since 2000 he has been a member of the Prix ​​Renaudot jury . On December 5, 2012 he was the President of the Republic of Serbia , Tomislav Nikolic , the Medal of the Serbian Flag awarded.

Besson received the Grand prix du roman de l'Académie française 1985 for Dara and the Prix ​​Renaudot 1995 for Braban .
