Patrick Schönbächler (born November 16, 1968 in Einsiedeln ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ) and lawyer .

biography

Patrick Schönbächler was born and raised in Einsiedeln. In 1988 he obtained the Matura type B at the monastery school of Einsiedeln monastery . In 1995 he completed his law studies at the University of Zurich . 1998 doctorate Schönbächler with the work "competitive neutrality of public policies". In 1999 he was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Schwyz . He works as a freelance lawyer in Einsiedeln and Schwyz.

From 2001 to 2010 he was a member of the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Schwyz. He was a member of the SP parliamentary group and had a seat on the permanent legal and justice commission, the state economic commission and the constitutional commission. In June 2007, Patrick Schönbächler was elected President of the Cantonal Council of Schwyz 2007/08 with 97: 0 votes. In 2011 he ran for the government council of the canton of Schwyz. The election did not succeed despite an absolute majority.

Since retiring from active politics, Patrick Schönbächler has been working part-time as a local historian , trombonist and event manager .
