Patrick Singleton

Patrick Singleton (* 15. August 1974 ) is a bermudischer Skeleton driver and former luger .

Patrick Singleton studied journalism and communication at Elon University in North Carolina .

Luge

In 1998 he qualified for the Olympic luge competition in Nagano , Japan . During the Games, Patrick was hired as a sports reporter for the world's largest daily newspaper, the Yomiuri Shimbun in Tokyo . He later moved to Bloomberg Television and worked in Tokyo and London . During his time in Japan, he trained on the Nagano track. In 2002, Patrick qualified for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . Here, too, he took part in the toboggan competition. During an official training session, he set the fastest time.

skeleton

Shortly after the games, he switched from luge to skeleton. In the very first season he qualified for the FIBT Skeleton World Championships. In the 2004/05 season Singleton won two races, reached fourth place three times and took part in the World Championship. At the end of 2005 he was named Sportsman of the Year in Bermuda. In the 2005/06 season he trained together with the British Olympic team. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he took part in the skeleton competition.
