BW

The patrician house at Rathausstrasse 5 in Kempten (Allgäu) is a three-storey eaves side building with a flat bay window over a round-arched driveway. The listed house was built around 1600. One house further is the Zorn House with the outside staircase . The publishing house Tobias Dannheimer was the owner of the building for many years .

History and description

The rooms were equipped with a wooden coffered ceiling on the two upper floors. Inside, as in the Vogthaus, there are door frames in the Renaissance style with pilasters . The corridor on the side to the courtyard on the east wing is stuccoed with diamonds and circles . These surround rosettes , humps and half humps. The year 1600 is on the window wall. The stucco is probably from the same workshop as in the eastern part of the Ponikauhaus .

On the ground floor there is a non-original shop fitting with large shop windows.
