Patterson Companies is a United States pharmaceutical and healthcare company headquartered in Saint Paul , Minnesota .

history

In 1877 the brothers John and MF Patterson opened a store in Milwaukee . The company's modern history began in May 1985 when management and investors bought the company from a subsidiary of Beatrice Companies, Inc. In October 1992 the company was listed on the NASDAQ and is represented in the S&P 500 stock index . In July 2001, Patterson acquired the assets of JA Webster Inc., founded in 1946, a US provider of over 8,000 veterinary products for pets and veterinary clinics. In June 2004 the company changed its name from Patterson Dental Company to Patterson Companies, Inc.

Group structure

The company offers products in the pharmaceutical, dental and veterinary sectors and is accordingly divided into the three divisions Patterson Dental, Webster Veterinary and Patterson Medical, of which Patterson Medical was sold to financial investor Madison Dearborn Partners in July 2015 for $ 715 million. There are also various subsidiaries in the form of holdings and limited companies.

Products

The product range includes films for X-rays, compressors, lighting, instruments, impressions, dentures, dental chairs and diagnostic equipment. Office facilities, computer equipment and other products for dental practices are also offered.

In addition to products for dental offices, Patterson offers accessories for veterinary offices in the United States. These include, for example, diagnostic products, paper towels, needles and syringes, injections, ointments, gauze bandages, anesthetics, antibiotics, gloves, sutures, orthopedic products, vaccines and other drugs.
