Paul-Bernhard Kallen

Paul-Bernhard Kallen (born February 17, 1957 in Neuss ) is a German manager and chairman of the board of Hubert Burda Media Holding .

Life

Kallen was born into a bourgeois Catholic family. His uncle was Peter Wilhelm Kallen , the Lord Mayor of Neuss from 1961 to 1967. After graduating from high school in 1976, Paul-Bernhard Kallen studied economics at the University of Bonn . In 1986 he was at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne on the subject of direct investments by German companies in developing countries. PhD in theoretical analysis and empirical findings . He then worked as an assistant to the board of a Cologne-based family company specializing in mechanical and plant engineering, and from 1988 as a consultant, later a partner at the management consultant McKinsey . In 1996 he started his career at Burda-Verlag. He became a board member there in 1999 and was responsible for digital business, international activities, the reorganization of the printing area and finances.
