Paul-Louis Boutié (born July 15, 1910 in Leuville-sur-Orge , † after 1967) was a French film architect .

Live and act

Boutié received an architectural education and initially worked as an outfitter for exhibitions. He came to film through the film architects Guy de Gastyne and Jacques Krauss in the course of the 1930s and initially worked as their assistant. In 1938, Boutié was able to work as a production designer for the first time, initially as a junior partner of de Gastyne, Jean d'Eaubonne and Georges Wakhévitch .

After a five-year film break from 1940 to 1945 due to the German occupation, Paul-Louis Boutié immediately returned to the cinema industry at the end of the war. Boutié was a prolific designer until 1967, "but he was mostly only used for average, artistically less ambitious entertainment productions." Most recently, he was involved in André Hunebelles and Jean-Paul Le Chanois ' A-productions , in which stars like Jean Marais , Louis de Funès , Jean Seberg and Jean Gabin contributed. After a sideline for André Cayatte , Paul Boutié retired from film in 1967. When he died is unknown.
