The Paul was a tugboat of the German East Africa Line in the German colony of Cameroon .

history

The Paul was built in Hamburg in 1904 . It was a tug used by the German East Africa Line in the colony of Cameroon .

When the First World War broke out in August 1914 , the Paul was used as a security boat to protect the port of Dar es Salaam against enemy intrusion.

When opposing troops approached Dar es Salaam, the tug was sunk in Dar es Salaam on September 3, 1916 so as not to fall into enemy hands.
