Paul Peter Bassen-Spiller (born July 11, 1892 in Kuressaare (German: Arensburg ), † December 1, 1962 in Uetersen ) was an officer of Baltic German origin in the Imperial Russian and later the Estonian military, most recently a colonel .

Bassen-Spiller was born in Kuressaare, the largest city on the Estonian island of Saaremaa (German: Ösel ), in 1892 . His wife was Ksenia ( Xenia ) geb. Gensler (born June 6, 1890 in Riga, † May 9, 1962 in Uetersen).

Bassen-Spiller attended high school in Tallinn. In 1914 he took part in the First World War. During the Russian Civil War he served in the North-West Army and was promoted to colonel in 1933, but retired from military service in 1936. Bassen-Spiller was arrested in 1941 and released again soon after. He then fled to Germany and took on German citizenship. Most recently he lived with his wife in Uetersen, where they both died.

Paul Bassen-Spiller was a holder of the Order of Saint George .
