Lords of Decadence is an Austrian melodic death metal band from Vienna , which was founded in 2000.

history

The band was founded in summer 2000 by Norbert Leitner (e-guitar, vocals) and Andreas Tuma (e-bass, vocals). Bernd Kladler (electric guitar) and his brother Werner Kladler (drums) joined the band towards the end of the year. In October 2001 they started rehearsing regularly, first in the “Klangschmiede” in Vienna and since autumn 2003 in their own “Black Box Studio”.

In 2002 the band recorded their first demo called Hellraiders as well as a DVD called Lords of Decadence . In 2003 she reached the Austrian final of the Emergenza band contest . In addition, the band held a few gigs. She also played at some international metal festivals. In 2004 she reached third place in the Austrian Band Contest . In the same year she played among other appearances as the opening band at the Summer Breeze Festival . The band also released their debut album called Cognitive Note of Discord . In 2005 the band signed a license agreement with the Italian label Scarlet Records for the album Cognitive Note of Discord in order to re-release the album through this label. The band's songs have also appeared on various compilations .

In 2006 the band released their second album called Bound to Fall .

style

The band's music is described on their website as a mixture of classic melodic heavy metal , with influences from thrash metal also being audible. The singing is said to be aggressive. The band tries to achieve the highest possible technical level and to make the songs as varied as possible. On their Myspace profile, the band lists Children of Bodom , Soilwork , In Flames , Sinergy and Raise Hell .
