Paul Bezanson

Paul Théodore Auguste Bezanson (born January 17, 1804 in Saarlouis , † September 29, 1882 in Metz ) was a businessman, mayor of Metz and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Bezanson received his youth education in the high schools of Pau , Auch and Toulouse . From 1831 to 1875 he was a Negociant in Metz. For many years he was a member and vice-president, and since 1872 president of the Metz Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the trade tribunal, the municipal council, the academy, president of the societe de prévoyance et de secours mutuels, etc. In 1870/71 he was deputy mayor, from 1872 to 1877 mayor of Metz. Ultimately, he was deposed by the Lorraine district government . In France he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor .

From 1877 until his death he was a member of the German Reichstag for the Alsace-Lorraine Protest Party and the constituency of Alsace-Lorraine 14 (Metz).
