Paul Birr
Paul Birr (born April 21, 1887 in Berlin ; missing since March 14, 1945 , Perleberg Lazarett ) was a German architect, sculptor, graphic artist and glass painter.
Life
He received his training from Franz Metzner and Hermann Feuerhahn . From 1920 to 1925 he stayed in Sweden , where he worked for the industrialist Alfred Ekström and also had contacts with the royal court. In 1924/25 he directed the conversion of the Hainstein house near Eisenach into a Protestant educational center with a chapel and designed the artistic furnishings. He then settled in Berlin and in 1943 in Bunzlau . In 1941/42 he was involved with Feuerhahn in the restoration of the Grüssau Abbey . In 1945 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and has been missing since a hospital stay in Perleberg.
