Paul Blasel

Paul Blasel ( June 29, 1855 in Linz - June 21, 1940 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian operetta singer ( tenor ), theater actor and director .

Life

Paul Blasel made his debut as an actor and operetta singer in Ischl and Salzburg in 1872, followed by engagements in Troppau, Klagenfurt, Nuremberg 1879, Amsterdam 1880, Budapest 1881 to 1883, Moscow 1984, Brno 1886 to 1888 and Vienna at the Carltheater 1889.

In 1889 he married Leopoldine Blasel , née Korner, in Brno.

In 1890 he directed the summer theater in Augsburg and in the same year became director of the Innsbruck City Theater. From 1891 to 1895 he headed the theater in Regensburg, from 1895 to 1897 the theater in Teplitz. In 1989 he went to Ulm as director, in 1899 to Salzburg and in 1902 to Pressburg.

His further artistic career is unknown, but he lived in Vienna and died in Salzburg in 1940.

He was the cousin of Leopold Blasel , so his parents Carl Blasel and Johanna Blasel were his uncle and aunt, respectively.
