Paul Bresgen

Paul Bresgen (born July 6, 1920 in Cologne-Ehrenfeld , † February 19, 1984 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1962 to 1975 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Paul Bresgen attended elementary school and then completed an apprenticeship as a book printer . In 1951, Bresgen became chairman of the Cologne district of the IG Druck und Papier trade union, as well as an assessor on the regional council for North Rhine-Westphalia. He was a member of the large tariff commission for the graphic industry. From 1960 onwards, Bresgen was district secretary of the IG Druck und Papier for the administrative districts of Cologne and Aachen .

In 1956, Bresgen became a member of the SPD district association in Cologne. From 1952 to 1962 he was a city councilor in Cologne. In the state elections in 1962, 1966 and 1970 he was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituencies 18 (Cologne City VI), 16 (Cologne City III) and 19 (Cologne City VI). He was an MP from July 21, 1962 to May 27, 1975.
