Engsfeld is a court of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).
Location and description
The Hofschaft is located in the northeast of Wipperfürth on the L284 state road between Wipperfürth and Halver . Neighboring places are Kupferberg , Hohl , Engstfeld and Niederengsfeld . The Engstfelder Bach flowing into the Hönnige flows past the eastern edge of the village.
Politically, the place is represented by the direct candidate of the constituency 12.1 (121) Kupferberg in the council of the city of Wipperfürth.
history
In 1417 the court was first mentioned under the name "Enxtvelt" . The student “Arn. Enxtveld de Wippervorde ”. The historical map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows an “Adelich House” in “Engesfeld ” . The topographical survey of the Rhineland map from 1825 uses the name "Oberengstfeld" , not to be confused with the immediately neighboring Oberengstfeld in Brandenburg . In the ( Prussian New Admission ) from 1894 to 1896, “Oberengsfeld” is written. From the topographical map of 1962, the place name Engsfeld, which is common today, is used.
